Story Title
Chriss and I met for dinner and attended a Percy Sledge concert on November 1, 2002 where the song "When A Man Loves A Woman" became our song.
Chriss's Breast Cancer diagnosis came on Christmas Eve 2002 and she tried to end our relationship and I refused to go away. When I went to my Dr. to make sure that I was healthy enough to help take care of Chriss I was diagnosed with stage 4 Leukemia. Her cancer had saved my life. We went through chemo together on staggered weeks the fist 6-7 months of 2003 and cared for each other as best we could growing closer every day.
Chriss and I discussed marriage and almost decided against it due to our illnesses. We finally decided that however many days, weeks, months, or years GOD gave us, we would marry and share them together. Our story together had begun! Thank you Lord, for the 20 years that you let us share together before calling her home to the job you had for her in heaven.
Thank you Chriss for marrying me and making my life so much richer than any man could ask for. Love you forever. One day the Lord will call me home also and we will be together again.
