"For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." II Corinthians 5:1
A Service of Celebration for the Life of Helene M.C. Glick
Friends, we have gathered here to praise God and to witness to our faith as we celebrate the life of Helene M.C. Glick. We come together in grief acknowledging our human loss. May God search our hearts, that in pain we may find comfort in sorrow hope, in death resurrection. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, yet shall they live and whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die, but shall have everlasting life."
Closing Prayer:
Eternal God, you have shared with us the life of Helene. Before she was ours she was Yours. For all that she has given to make us what we are, for those things in her life which live and grow in each of us, and for her life that in Your life will never end, we give You thanks. As we now offer Helene back into Your arms, we pray for comfort in our lonliness, strength in our wearkness, and courage to face the future unafraid. Draw those to us who remain in this life close to one another; make us faithful to serve one another; and give us to know that peace and joy which is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
My Dead
"I cannot think of them as dead Who walk with me no more; Along the path of life I tread They have gone before.
The Father's house is mansioned fair Beyond my vision dim; All souls are his, and hers and there Are living unto him.
And still their silent ministry Within my heart hath place, As when on earth they walked with me And met me face to face.
Their lives are made forever mine; What they to me have been Hath left henceforth its seal and sign Engraven deep within.
Mine are they by an ownership Nor time nor death can free; For God hath given Love to keep Its own eternally."

Helene Glick, 83, born in New York City, came to Port Morris when she was 11 years old and lived there most of her life. Last Thursday she died at home in her apartment at the Village Green in Budd Lake. Her sons Roger (Chicago), George (New York) and niece Joanne Hoefly (Florida) were with her at the time of death. Two brothers survive her, Arthur and Edward Constantine and five grandchildren (another one expected this month). She was an active member of the Port Morris Methodist Church, where a Memorial Service was held Sunday night at 7pm. The Eastern Starlight Chapter, of which she served as an officer, had special services for her Sunday also.
She retired from Picatinny Arsenal 30 years ago where she worked as secretary for the library. During her retirement, she traveled to most of the states with her brothers, Art and his wife, Ann. She went to Alaska in 1993, also that same year to Mexico with son Roger and wife. She helped her niece, above with her babies (Florida and other states) and spent a lot of time in Chicago, during births with son Roger and family. She would give a helping hand wherever needed. She belonged to the Roxbury Senior Citizens and went on all their trips. She was Queen for a Day at a surprise 80th birthday party attended by around 100 relatives and friends. We will all miss you, Helen!
