Biography
Peter Yarrow was born on May 31, 1938, in Manhattan, New York, to Jewish immigrants from Ukraine. He grew up in New York City and attended the High School of Music and Art. Yarrow later attended Cornell University, where he majored in psychology and drew inspiration from his studies to pursue a career in music. He became a prominent figure in the Greenwich Village folk scene and co-founded the legendary folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary in 1961, which became known for their harmonious singing and socially conscious lyrics.
